Once we know Jesus, the natural process is to grow spiritually in His presence. This entails a new lifestyle predicates on the important axes.  They are the word of God that is available to us in the bible (2 Tim. 3:16-17); and an extensive prayer life that is our daily responsibility (1 Thess. 5:17). Now our way of life will have to demonstrate that Christ lives in us. Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. (Col. 3:1-2)
For spiritual growth, the believer is transformed daily to own and gradually manifest the Christian character to be like Christ. If we do that, God guarantees the increase. (1 Cor. 3-6).  We will grow from a (an)....

1.  Canal man to a spirit filled Christian  (Gal. 5:16-25)

2.  Earthly things to focus on heavenly interests (Phil. 3:18-20)

3.  Childish behavior to a mature man who is able to distinguish good from evil (Heb. 5:13-14).
